Overview
Congruence Counseling Group is a therapy and counseling practice co-founded by Leslie Stevens and Donna Bell. When they came to me, their existing website no longer reflected who they were as a practice — it lacked the warmth, professionalism, and clarity that prospective clients needed to feel confident reaching out. For a mental health practice, a website isn’t just a marketing tool: it’s often the first moment a person decides whether they feel safe enough to ask for help.
This project needed to get that right.
This is an active client relationship — I continue to manage ongoing maintenance and updates for their site.
The Challenge
Counseling practices face a unique challenge online: their website needs to work on two levels simultaneously. It has to be technically sound — fast, mobile-friendly, SEO-optimized, and easy to navigate — but it also has to feel human. Prospective clients are often in a vulnerable place when they search for a therapist. A cold or clinical website sends them elsewhere. The redesign needed to reflect the warmth and professionalism of the practice itself, while also performing well enough in search to actually reach the people who needed it.
What I Did
I handled this project from discovery to launch with full ownership of every layer — design, development, and technical setup. I started with UI/UX design and wireframing to map out an experience that balanced clinical credibility with genuine warmth. From there I built the full WordPress site, ensuring it was fully responsive and visually aligned with the heart of their practice.
On the technical side, I set up hosting, DNS, and SSL, implemented on-page technical SEO across all pages, and configured Google Analytics to give the team visibility into how their audience was engaging with the site. Since launch, I’ve continued managing updates and maintenance as an ongoing client, keeping the site secure, fast, and current.
